The Clear River Games teaser proved accurate and we’ll see Terranigma return on the Switch, Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC in 2027. Physical copies are also planned. The GOG, Microsoft Store, PlayStation Store, and Steam product pages are both already live. It will be available in English, French, German, Japanese, and Spanish. This is the first return since the original Super Famicom and Super Nintendo release.
The base action-RPG will remain the same. It will still be about helping Ark, who lives in the Darkside version of the world, restore frozen people of his village and revive life on the Lightside. There will also be unspecified “upgrades” and “bonus features.” The original artist Kamui Fujiwara is also involved and will create new official art for this release.
GOG already shared a first trailer that shows how the game will look on modern platforms. It gives us an idea of what different segments will look like and how it might run on modern platforms.
