Nintendo announced two September 2026 Direct live streams that will focus on The Legend of Zelda series’ 40th anniversary and upcoming Switch 2 games in general. The Legend of Zelda one will air first at 7am PT/10am ET/4pm CET on September 8, 2026. The more general one will follow at 7am PT/10am ET/4pm CET on September 9, 2026. There will also be a Nintendo Treehouse: Live on September 0, 2026 after the main presentation, which will likely look at upcoming first-party titles.
Nintendo already has placeholders for each of these streams live on YouTube. First, here’s the one for The Legend of Zelda series. Its description noted it will last for 30 minutes. As a reminder, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Switch 2 remake and a live-action movie adaptation are both on the way.
Next, here’s the placeholder for the general September 2026 Nintendo Direct. The description for it only mentioned Winter 2026 Switch 2 games, so it’s possible we won’t see much or any news tied to original Switch titles. That main showcase will be about 45 minutes long.
Finally, the September 2026 Nintendo Treehouse: Live will be about two hours long. That will feature employees showcasing some upcoming titles. For an example of what to expect, the June 2026 one looked at Rhythm Heaven Groove, Splatoon Raiders, and Star Fox. So it’s possible this will only focus on upcoming Switch 2 games being released between September and December 2026. It is possible we could see Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, as that launches in September 2026 on the Switch 2.
