After my disdain for Naruto: Shinobi Retsuden I’m extremely hesitant about the sequel. Sure, the frame rate is cleared up (now 60 FPS) and a single player mode. However, the fighting system is, at best, basic. Maybe more characters will spice up the action?
The cast in Naruto Shippuden: Shinobi Retsuden II grows to 30. The original Japanese version had a meager selection 13. So far Naruto, Sakura, Sai, Yamato and Sasuke are confirmed, which leaves us to speculate about 25 of the other characters. Tsunade, Orochimaru and Jiraiya are shoe-ins for Naruto: Shippuden: Shinobi Retsuden II since we saw them in Naruto: Ninja Destiny. Actually, we probably will see all of the characters in Naruto: Ninja Destiny just in their older Shippuden incarnations. Even if that logic holds true there are plenty of character slots for Tomy to utilize.
