Following in the footsteps of Namco X Capcom, Namco Chronicle brings together a number of classic Namco characters into a tactical RPG. Valkyrie from The Legend of the Valkyrie series, Gil from Tower of Druaga, and Momo from Wonder Momo are confirmed to be in the game. Boogiepop Phantom artist Kouji Ogata designed the characters including some original ones made just for Namco Chronicle.

Namco Chronicle is split into three volumes: Fantasy volume, City volume, and Space volume. Like other strategy RPGs, the story is told between grid-based battles. Like many mobile phone games in Japan you pay a monthly fee for Namco Chronicle instead of buying chapters. The game launches today for i-Mode users and costs 315 yen ($3.60) per month.
