Sega and developer Platinum Games originally planned to release Anarchy Reigns this fall. Then the multiplayer brawler got pushed back to January 2012. Sega just announced a third delay for the Gator Tooth and Jack’s return – Anarchy Reigns has been rescheduled for July 3, 2012.
"Anarchy Reigns brings a new take to the brawler genre and we have decided to take a little more time to deliver
the full knockout punch," Gary Knight, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Sega West, commented about the delay. "I can’t reveal much now, but it has something to do with scale. Let’s just say traditional one-on-one or two versus two fighters will be a thing of the past…”
We’ve seen Anarchy Reigns with four person multiplayer in deathmatch mode with two people on each team and a three player survival mode. Sounds like Platinum Games is going to expand this feature, probably by adding more players (and chaos).
