Years before Samurai Western was made, UEP Systems made Rising Zan: The Samurai Gunman. This PsOne title is literally East meets West, the game’s protagonist wields a samurai sword and a revolver.

The company behind Cool Borders closed their doors years ago, but Rising Zan lives on. Studio Zan, the company behind Overturn and Gachitora: The Roughneck Teacher in High School, scooped up the rights to the game and re-released it on PlayStation Network.
