This year the World Series of Video Games is handing out Rolex watches to the winners of the Quake 4, Warcraft III: Frozen Throne, Halo 2, Project Gotham Racing 3 and Counter Strike 1.6 tournaments. The first and second prize winners also nab a hefty sum of cash. First place gets $50,000 for Counter Strike and $20,000 for the other games while second prize gets $10,000 for Counter Strike and $5,000 for every other game. Plus you get bragging rights in the form of a trophy. Not bad for the professional gaming circuit, but the prizes are nowhere near as big as South Korea where Starcraft matches are broadcasted on television.
