Starting with Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2, Compile Heart made the video game references visual instead of weaving them into the story. Looks like "Mariyo" is back for Neptunia V and in Lastation there are Toro and King of All Cosmos gag cameos. Some Japanese blogs said the surfer enemy is supposed be Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi and the soccer ball enemy is a jab at Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino.

 

Did you notice anything else? Well, aside from Keiji Inafune in a TV and video game champ Mouri Meijin as a sword.

 

Neptunia V comes out for PlayStation 3 on August 30.
