Up To 400 Players Can Go Head-To-Head At Once In This Online RPG

Following the news of the closure of Archlord earlier this year, the sequel, Archlord II, is headed into closed beta by this June. The original player-versus-player online RPG’s big claim to fame was the chance for one player per server to become Archlord and essentially lord it over everyone else for a month. The beautifully updated, full-3D sequel is expected to have the same special rule in place.

The upcoming sequel is now taking pre-registrations, with those who had active Archlord accounts guaranteed a spot on the closed beta expected to begin in June. Better, Archlord II’s closed beta will not have a non-disclosure agreement, meaning we’ll get to fill in the scant details on the sequel right now.

We do know though that publisher Webzen is boasting how its player-versus-player battles can hold up to 400 players, a pretty big number of people to cleave through to become King. Then again, if you get to have a spiffy dragon mount, weather control, massive damage bonuses and more, why wouldn’t we wanna be Archlords?

Archlord II will be taking place in the same medieval fantasy world of Chantra as the original. Here, the two opposing factions of the Azuni and Crunn wage an eternal war, which you’ll then join.

Archlord II is expected to hit PCs for closed beta some time in June this year.
