Murder is an upcoming short story and point-and-click adventure set in a future Tokyo in which morality and sentience have become commodities.

You follow Lieutenant Motomeru Minori of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police as she pursues what becomes a very dangerous and unusual case.

The trailer, which you can watch above, shows a robot that appears to be corrupt and, seemingly, turning hostile on Minori. It ends up being a dream, and so Minori chills out on her balcony overlooking a stunning Tokyo night scene.

The team behind Murder say that it’s inspired by the works of Masamune Shirow, Katsuhiro Otomo, Neal Stephenson, among other cyberpunk greats. They also aim to “engaging environmental storytelling and confident cinematic flair” to the game.

You can keep track of Murder on its website.
