D3 Publisher is developing an expanded version of Earth Defense Force 2025 for PlayStation 4. Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair is swarming with giant ants and new monster variants. Players will be able to fight Red Steel Dragons and Yellow Dragons in the game. Missions with the Steel Spiders have also been renewed.
D3 Publisher also showed a Red Bee variant and a new kind of giant ant that has a purple tint.
The EDF will get help from a new vehicle, the Depth Crawler. Designed for infiltrating ant holes, the Depth Crawler is equipped with a strong light and a can walk on walls. First print copies of the game in Japan includes a gold version of the Depth Crawler. Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair comes out on April 2 in Japan.
