One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3’s Legend Log Mode Retells Luffy’s Story

One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 is all about playing as some of your favorite characters from the One Piece series, but the game features several modes for you to check out. Bandai Namco’s latest trailer shows us some of the game’s main attractions.

The 0:35 mark of the video starts out with a look at the Legend Log mode, which will highlight Luffy’s story in real-time fashion, showing off his fight against Crocodile, and others. It’ll feature all kinds of events that happened throughout the entire series.

The video showcases more of the battle system at 1:00, where they show off the Bond Attack system, where you charge up your meter by attacking with your buddies, so you can pull off powerful cooperative attacks with your two characters.

We get to see more on the Dream Log Mode at 1:50. In this mode, you’ll play as your favorite character to unlock new routes and islands, while fighting tough enemies which you can unlock to play as in the main game. You can also earn coin by taking down bounty characters in this mode.

Finally, at the 3:28 mark, they show us a glimpse at the character customization menu. This is where you can “grow” your favorite characters by using coins you’ve acquired throughout stages to give them new abilities from the Skill Poster. There’s also a bit of online co-op action shown at 3:40.

One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 is slated for release in Japan on March 26, 2015. The game will also release in the West this summer for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and PC.
