Ready Your Mecha Pilots As AirMech Arena Is Coming To PS4, Xbox One

Ubisoft has announced that Carbon Games’s free-to-play real-time action strategy game AirMech Arena will be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this spring.

You should enjoy AirMech Arena if you were ever into the Sega Genesis game Herzog Zwei – it’s a spiritual successor in many ways. You play as one of nine AirMechs that are able to transform between vehicle and mecha forms. But you also command an army of smaller units as you attempt to destroy your enemy’s fortress while protecting your own. There are 12 unlockable pilots and more than 80 different units in total.

AirMech Arena supports solo play against AI, as well as 1v1 and 3v3 versus modes against other players, and there’s also a co-operative mode in which you can team up with other players to take down an AI-controlled force.

Despite being picked up by Ubisoft, AirMech Arena started out life as a small indie game (called AirMech) that was released for PC back in 2012. Seeing its success, Ubisoft moved in to publish it for Xbox 360 last year, and not it’s bringing it to current-gen consoles too.

If you’re looking for more information on AirMech Arena you’ll find it on its website.
