TinyBuild Games has announced that first-person shooter Lovely Planet will be coming to Xbox One this summer. This console version features advanced controller support with lock-on functionality – something PC players have been asking for.
Lovely Planet isn’t your typical shooter for a number of reasons. Firstly, it’s cute and upbeat: rather the opposite of the industrial, militaristic scorn of most shooters. You shoot apples out of the sky, dodge violet bullets, and run through a world wrapped in a rainbow.
Secondly, it’s all about speedrunning and fast accuracy. There’s no time to hang about as in each level you’re rewarded with stars based on your time, and you need those stars to unlock more levels. You’ve got to dodge, shoot, run, and jump through the levels with a view to mastering them.
