Wii U-Exclusive Runbow Gets Crossover Guest Characters Including Shovel Knight

13AM Games has revealed that its couch co-op Wii U-exclusive game Runbow will be getting a number of guest characters from various indie games (via GameSpot).

As you can see in the new trailer above, these characters include Shovel Knight, Juan and Tostada from Guacamelee!, CommanderVideo and CommandGirlVideo from the BIT.TRIPgames, Rusty from Steamworld Dig, Scram Kitty from the game of the same name, and Swift Thornebrook from Sportsball.

These characters are only re-skins, so they won’t come with any new abilities or add any other features to the game. They do, however, move Runbow closer to resembling an indie take on Smash Bros., which of course has its own roster of various game crossover characters.

Granted, Runbow isn’t even in the same genre as Smash Bros., but 13AM Games did previously tell Siliconera in an interview that it would love for Runbow to sit among other Wii U party games such as Smash Bros. and Mario Kart.
