MMO Brawler Grand Chase’s US Servers Shut Down After 7 Years

The Korean MMORPG Grand Chase has had its North American servers shut down by developer KOG Games after seven years of live service.

Eugene Kim, the company’s CEO, said that “Grand Chase had a tremendous impact and paved the way for so many MMOs that it is simply time to say goodbye and allow players to embrace these new experiences.”

Reflecting this sentiment, KOG Games is welcoming the community of players that surrounded Grand Chase to another of its MMORPGs, Elsword Online. As outline in the welcoming message, Grand Chase players transferring to Elsword Online get a completely free character level boost with max level characters, in-game item rewards, and a cash item compensation package.

As to all the memories had within the game, a tribute blog has been created that KOG Games hopes will honor them, with the game’s history, images, music for players to take a look at and download parts of if they wish.
