Nihilumbra Is Getting A New Co-Op Mode For Its Wii U Version

Recommended Videos

To make the arrival of its puzzle platformer Nihilumbra on Wii U, developer BeautiFun Games decided that this latest version of its game – which is already available on PC, mobile, and PS Vita – needed something special that the other platforms didn’t have.

Using the Wii U’s tech, the studio came up with a way to shoehorn in a co-op mode. How it works is one player controls the main character, Born, while the other player uses the GamePad’s touchscreen to paint the environments with the various colors. This way, both players will have to work together in order to solve the puzzles.

You can see how this multiplayer plays out in the new trailer above. Nihilumbra will be out on the Wii U eShop in the US and Europe from May 14th and will cost $9.99 (with a 20 percent discount until May 28th). It will also be heading to the Japanese eShop at an undetermined date.
