This Gorgeous Co-Op Adventure Game Is Entirely Hand-Painted And Runs At 1080p

Two Swedish brothers who collectively call themselves Venturous are developing a 2D co-op adventure called Yonder that looks very pretty. What make its visuals pop is the non-tile-based art work, which is, instead, entirely hand-painted meaning that nothing is repeated and it all runs at 1080p resolution.

“We believe that an adventure is better when it is shared. This feeling should be present whether you decide to play a game by yourself or cooperatively. That is why we set out to create an adventure game capturing the essence of a shared experience,” Venturous say.

As such, Yonder really focuses on co-operative interaction whether you play with another person or not – perhaps making it comparable to Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons. There are two characters, two young girls, who explore, solve puzzles, and unravel a mystery together. Early shots show them pushing and pulling blocks around, helping each other over objects, and running through a sun-lit forest after escaping an ancient temple.
