Publisher 505 Games and developer Giant Squid have unveiled a new E3 2015 teaser trailer for upcoming ocean exploration game ABZÛ. There are also new screenshots.

ABZÛ is the next game from Matt Nava, who was previously the art director at thatgamecompany for Flower and Journey.  It was unveiled during the Sony press conference at E3 2014. At the time we learned that it would debut on PlayStation 4. We were also told that its title is a combination of the two ancient words AB, meaning ocean, and ZÛ, meaning to know.

Recently, Game Informer was able to hands-on with the game, learning about some of the encounters and mysteries that will be unveiled as you swim down into the heart of the ocean. First off, there can potentially be thousands of fish onscreen at once, all of which have their own routines and that exist within a food chain that you can interact with. At the press of a button you’re able to swim with schools of fish. You can also hitch a ride with sea turtles, stingrays, and other solitary animals, but only if you gain their trust.

Closer to the seabed, you’ll find totemic statues and drones that can be revived, which will then help you mine mineral pools. This seems to be the start of more puzzle-like challenges inside the game that will open up gradually as you enter different environments.
