Slightly Lighter, Less Power Hungry PlayStation 4 Launches In Japan This June

Sony Computer Entertainment announced a new PlayStation 4 model in Japan. This modified system is 10% lighter in weight and consumes 8% less power than the current PS4 model. The CUH-1200 series PlayStation 4 console also has a matte finish on the console’s hard drive bay cover.

The model will launch in Japan by the end of June with a 500 GB hard drive, the same as the current PlayStation 4. A release in North America, Europe, and throughout Asia will follow afterwards. Sony will sell the lighter PS4 for the same price.
