Dragon Quest: Monster Battle Scanner has been announced for arcade, as an “amusement” title, similar to Dragon Quest: Monster Battle Road which featured a sword as a control along with monster cards. 
As for Dragon Quest: Monster Battle Scanner, it will be similar to the Monster Battle Road as far it being an “amusement” title goes. The above image gives us a little clue on its features, with a character who appears to be the protagonist holding a card and a dragon item. Dragon Quest: Monster Battle Scanner is in co-development between Square Enix and Marvelous. The game’s genre is a “scan battle RPG,” and is slated to launch in Japan sometime in 2016.
