Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance is an installment where all of the main characters are overlords working toward a common goal. Void Dark is conquering and destroying netherworlds, and the leaders are coming back to make him pay. Two of the people to aid Killia and Seraphina are Red Magnus and Usalia, introduced in NIS America’s latest trailers.
Red Magnus is the Scorching Flame Netherworld’s overlord. His signature ability is to greatly increase his size, which allows him to do more damage to opponents. He and Seraphina have a bit of history, as the two knew each other prior to the events of Disgaea 5.
Usalia was the Prinny-riding overlord of Toto Bunny. Her netherworld is filled with peaceful demons, but she finds herself forced to fight due to a curse placed on her by one of Void Dark’s underlings. If she doesn’t eat curry, which used to be her least favorite food, she’ll fly into rages. Luckily for her, she now has developed a taste for that treat.
NIS America has also released a Disgaea 5 Alliance Match Maker. After providing an email address, players can answer a few questions about their preferences, then go through a mini Tinder simulation to attempt to find a match. If you happen to not get paired up with anyone after going through the online diversion, it will tell you, “But, don’t worry. There’s always Prinny.” You’ll then “form an alliance,” have the opportunity to download a character icon, and see general results.
Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance will be released on the PlayStation 4 on October 6.
