With Super Mario Maker out for everyone to enjoy, we’ve been seeing a lot of levels that use music in an unexpected way. That is, we’re seeing players create their own songs using the Note Blocks. Different enemies make different sounds when they land on them and, by combining those with the static sound effect, people are composing their own songs. However, Mindnomad’s “Rhythmic Run” does something special with the New Super Mario Bros. music found within the game.
For those unable to watch the video above, the “Rhythmic Run” Super Mario Maker level adds accompaniment to the background theme based on actions Mario will need to naturally perform to get through the level. You’re adding your own accents with your actions.
