Magic Flute Is Inspired By Japanese Stage Director Amon Miyamoto

For its game Magic Flute, Polish studio LabLike has been inspired by the opera scenography and staging in Tokyo that renowned Japanese stage director Amon Miyamoto (the first Asian director to work on Broadway) has brought to the rest of the world.

In fact, it’s practically a recreation of Miyamoto’s stage design for his version of Mozart’s The Magic Flute at Landestheater Linz in Austria in 2013. But this isn’t just an interactive opera as LabLike’s Magic Flute is a puzzle game.

Across each of its 32 stages the idea is to slide tiles around to build a path so main character Tamino can exit the stage. There are multiple solutions to each level so long as you can avoid traps, deadly serpents, and the guards that want to catch Tamino.

Magic Flute is available on the App Store for iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad. Find out more on its website.
