Back in 2013, KLab and Bushiroad put together Love Live! School Idol Festival, a free-to-play, mobile music game for Android and iOS devices. Despite having visual novel elements, the title ended up getting multiple localizations, including one for English speaking users. Now, in 2015, a major hallmark has been reached. Over 20 million people are playing the game worldwide.

To celebrate, Love Live! School Idol Festival has been running a one week login event. No matter what device you use, if you log into the game between October 1-7, you’ll be rewarded with Love Gems. That’s the game’s premium currency that can be put toward premium idol acquisition, adding space for more idol cards, and refilling stamina. On the fourth day, one can even acquire a ticket that can be put toward premium idol acquisition.

Love Live! School Idol Festival is a card-based rhythm game. People form “groups” of nine cards, and when they go into a song each card represents one idol and indicator. When a note hits the idol’s face, you tap it so they can “perform.” If it’s a major idol from the series, like Honoka, Nico, or Kotori, they may even trigger a special ability that will do something like boost the score or refill the “life” gauge.

You can find Love Live! School Idol Festival on iTunes and Google Play
