Final Fantasy XV Videos Demonstrate The Luminous Engine And Motion Capture

Recommended Videos

Two new Final Fantasy XV videos that were shown by Square Enix at CEDEC 2015 last month have surfaced, demonstrating the Luminous Engine and the motion capture process. Here’s a look at the Luminous Engine video. [Thanks, Nova Crystallis.]

In this one we get to see a bit of the work involved in generating different movements and facial animations in the characters and various monsters in the Final Fantasy XV world. We also get a glimpse of how different terrain is created, as well as how the characters interact with it.

The second video shows us some behind the scenes of the motion capture process. You can clearly tell which motion capture actor is playing which character solely based on their behavior and actions.

Final Fantasy XV is being developed for the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One.
