Sekai Project Explains Why It Pulled Yohjo Simulator From Steam

Recommended Videos

Yohjo Simulator was pulled from Steam mere days after it was released by publisher Sekai Project but the reasoning why wasn’t clear. Now Sekai Project has offered an explanation as well as an apology.

Speaking to Hardcore Gamer, Sekai Project confirmed that there were two reasons for the game being pulled. First, it had received a lot of negative reviews on Steam and plenty of complaints about its quality. The second reason was a specific scene placed in the game by solo creator Shinda.

The scene contains a young girl lying unconscious on the floor next to some underpants with a male character standing over. Sekai Project apparently hadn’t seen this scene before approving the game for Steam.

“We would like to formally apologize for not having discovered this content before the game was released,” Sekai Project told Hardcore Gamer. “Had we known it would have been swiftly removed from the game. Unfortunately, this was not the case and we are truly sorry for the severe oversight on our part. We hope that this has not left a negative impact on how you use Steam as a gaming service, or your experience with Sekai Project and our releases. This has served as a valuable lesson and will have a significant but positive impact on how we test upcoming titles before they are released.”

Sekai Project is working with Shinda to bring Yohjo Simulator back to Steam with that scene removed and with additional content and features.
