Dark Cloud 2 is the sequel to Level-5’s Dark Cloud and, as such, combined town building and dungeon crawling. In this entry, players control a boy named Max, from the present, and a princess named Monica, from the future. Monica has come back in time to work with Max to rebuild the world to preserve the future. People need to get Geostones and materials from dungeons, to get plans and the necessary items needed to rebuild towns and areas.

The other hallmark of Dark Cloud 2 is a leveling system where weapons level up instead of characters. They need to be built up and repaired to ensure Max and Monica are in the best shape.

A price has not been announced for Dark Cloud 2. The original Dark Cloud was one of the first PlayStation 2 games released on the PlayStation 4 and costs $14.99.
