Make Your Own Super Mario Maker Wallpaper

Recommended Videos

The Japanese website for Super Mario Maker now offers wallpapers based on the game. They aren’t just any wallpapers, though. They’re ones visitors get to make themselves.

Upon visiting the Super Mario Maker page, people can scroll down to find an option to make PC or mobile wallpapers. While the site is in Japanese, images appear next to the two options, so visitors can click the PC monitor or phone to get started. Once you make your decision and choose a resolution, you’re taken to a wallpaper editor.

As in Super Mario Maker, players get standard Super Mario, Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World, and New Super Mario Bros. U sets to choose from. There are six different backgrounds and 16 different decorations to choose from. Unfortunately, you can only choose between small and large Marios, using the Mushroom power up, you can’t shake items to get alternate pieces, and you can’t combine characters. Clicking the eraser lets you remove one item, while clicking the rocket ship lets you completely reset the wallpaper.

Once you’re finished with your Super Mario Maker wallpaper, click the Course Bot button at the bottom of the page to finalize things. It will then give you a finished image you can save and use as a wallpaper.

Super Mario Maker is immediately available for the Nintendo Wii U.
