When Oxenfree arrives on PS4 on May 31st, it’ll come with more than just the base game. The developers have been hard at work creating new elements for the game, as well as PS4-specific ones, that will continue Alex’s story well beyond the ending of previous editions of the game.
This new version of Oxenfree will feature a New Game+ that will “continue Alex’s story with a new purpose.” This content will take the character’s story in new directions after the game’s ending, leading to new conclusions, locations, and information for players who wish to know more about Oxenfree’s world.
This new edition will also take advantage of the Dualshock 4’s speaker and light bar, using them as the game’s supernatural radio.
The extended story content will not just be coming to PS4 owners, as the content will be released for free on all of the game’s previous platforms.
Supernatural adventure game Oxenfree stars Alex and her stepbrother Jonas – two teenagers who are spending the night on an old military island. The two accidentally open a gate that unleashes deadly, strange phantoms. To survive, they’ll need to strengthen the bonds of friendship through conversation, and will also use an odd old radio that lets Alex communicate with the spectres and manipulate the world.
