Namco Bandai Plotting An “Odyssey To The West”

image Like most Japanese developers, Namco Bandai is in the Western expansion party. We just didn’t imagine they would trademark it, though.

Namco Bandai registered the rights to Odyssey to the West in the USA. While this could be some kind of slogan for their US studio, it looks like another video game subtitle to me. A game called Odyssey to the West on its own just doesn’t sound right. If it’s a subtitle it must be connected to another, already trademarked Namco Bandai franchise.

 

Dragon Ball: Odyssey to the West? Idolm@ster: Journey to the West? Wait… that almost sounds like it could work.
