Legend of Zelda Producer Aonuma Says Nintendo Wants Him To Create A New IP

Producer Eiji Aonuma has long been a fixture of the Legend of Zelda series. So much so, that it’s almost difficult to imagine him working on anything else. However, Aonuma has said in a recent interview with Edge that Nintendo has asked him to do just that.

In the interview, the Zelda producer revealed that Nintendo has asked him to begin work on creating a new IP, all while still simultaneously working on more Zelda games.

“Actually, Nintendo has been telling me to create a new IP. But then, they’re also telling me to make more Zelda games,” said Aonuma.

 

Aonuma went on to say that he couldn’t share much more, but mentioned he really likes “the idea of a game where I can live as a thief. That’s all I’ll say.”
