Playtonic Games is sending out Yooka-Laylee Toybox PC codes today. The Toybox is a sandbox experience offering a sample of what people can expect from the platformer later this year. People will be able to take Yooka and Laylee around an enclosed space, finding collectibles, testing out special abilities, and playing with props. A new NPC has also been added to this experience. It is also being used as an opportunity for Playtonic to gather additional feedback for the final game.

The Yooka-Laylee Toybox trailer offers a look at the moves people can use in this sandbox.

Yooka-Laylee’s estimated PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Wii U, and PC launch window is 2017. The Yooka-Laylee Toybox Steam codes are going out to backers who contributed at least £20 (about $32/€28) to the Kickstarter and will be available through BackerKit. Playtonic Games has no plans to make the Toybox available to people who didn’t contribute to the crowdfunding campaign.
