Pankapu Set To Release September 21

Pankapu will see the first of its four episodes release for PC on September 21, 2016. A total of two seasons are planned, with each season containing two episodes. Developer Too Kind Games earned funding for the project through the support of the Kickstarter and Square Enix Collective communities.

The game’s narrative tells two stories: the reality of a young child haunted by his past, and the Dreamworld battles of a small warrior fighting off Nightmares. In Pankapu, the player is put in the shoes of the little warrior fighting against an invasion of nightmare monsters. The warrior has three “Aegis” that function similar to job classes. Players can instantly swap between Aegis in real-time to adjust to the battle scenario or platforming puzzles at hand. The latest gameplay teaser shows the hero swapping between the sword-wielding Bravery Aegis and the archer Ardor Aegis.

Pankapu also reached its PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Wii U stretch goals. Per the developer’s comments on Facebook, the console version is expected to release in early 2017 along with Episode 2. The full game features a soundtrack composed by Ganaé and Secret of Mana composer Hiroki Kikuta.
