An official English release of Princess Maker 2 is coming to Steam. Studio Gainax and CFK will be bringing the life simulator to Windows PCs as Princess Maker 2 Refine. It will be available in English, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese, and screenshots from Dengeki Online show the English translation.
Princess Maker 2 was originally released on PCs in Japan in 1993, though it also appeared on the Sega Saturn, TurboGrafx-16, and Dreamcast. SoftEgg attempted to release it outside of Japan in English, but the project didn’t come to fruition. Princess Maker 2 Refine, the remaster, came to Windows PCs in Japan in 2004. Now, in 2016, that remaster will arrive on Steam.
In Princess Maker 2, players follow a mighty warrior who ends up being tasked with raising a 10 year old girl for eight years. You determine her monthly schedule, determining where she works, what classes she takes, and how she spends her free time. You also can decide on her meal plan, pick out her outfits, determine who she speaks with at the palace, and send her exploring in various areas. The exploration part leads to some turn-based battles. Your decisions decide which of 70 endings you’ll see, as you’re shaping her future.
Princess Maker 2 Refine will come to Windows PCs in October 2016. It will be $19.99.
