Steam To Fully Support PlayStation 4’s DualShock 4 Controller In New Update

Recommended Videos

Valve has announced that PlayStation 4’s DualShock 4 controller will become fully supported by Steam in an upcoming update. [Thanks, Gamasutra.]

This update will see players able to tailor the functions of the DualShock 4’s touchpad and gyro features, which currently are not possible with Steam. While there are many games on Steam that partially support PS4 controllers, there are still a great deal, such as Dark Souls III, that require players to download third-party programs like DS4Windows to make their controllers usable. Thanks to the new update, all games with controller support will automatically support DualShock 4.

Additionally, support for other controllers was also mentioned to be in the works, though the fact that the PS4 controller had overlapping functionality with the Steam Controller gave it priority.
