Developer Dejawolfs has set out to recreate the entirety of the first Castlevania, doing so with the Unreal Engine 4. They’ve released the first stage as a demo on Itch.io for players to get a taste of what they’ve completed so far.
Dejawolfs is partway through development of the second stage, and has taken to Kickstarter to try to fund the rest of development and purchase a license to use the franchise to pre-emptively deal with any potential legal issues that may crop up.
