Game Freak’s Shigeki Morimoto Reflects On The Release Of The Original Pokémon Games

In celebration of Pokémon’s 20th anniversary this year, Shigeki Morimoto, game designer and battle director for Game Freak, recently reminisced about the first launch of the original Pokémon games.

 

Initially, Morimoto expressed his worry that the games wouldn’t sell at all, however, he felt great happiness and relief once he started seeing the games begin to sell out in game stores. He then closed the video with a thank you to the fans who have supported Pokémon throughout the years.
