Moore gave high praise to the company, saying that Nintendo ā€œwill always be a very important partner in this industry.ā€ Additionally, Moore also reconfirmed the fact that EA has been working on a ā€œmajor gameā€ for the Switch, though gave very few details in that regard.

You can find the entirety of Mooreā€™s comments below:

ā€œNintendo has always been and will always be an very important partner in this industry. They have some of the best first party development studios in the world, and some of the most valuable intellectual properties in the world. We have announced publicly that we got a partnership with them on their new platform, the Switch, we havenā€™t talked in detail on whatā€™s that about. You can imagine, as you heard, that a major game will be distributed on that platform.

Weā€™re huge fans. We have a relationship that goes many decades back. Theyā€™ve had some difficult times as if recently obviously, but never, ever, ever discount Nintendo in this marketplace, and their ability to leverage their superb game development opportunities. Their intellectual properties, whether itā€™s Mario, whether itā€™s Zelda, whether itā€™s Metroid Prime, we could go on forever about what they can doā€¦ obviously PokĆ©mon, weā€™ve seen more recently.

Weā€™re gonna watch with interest and you can rest assured that EA, just like every major publisher, is in regular conversations with Nintendo.ā€

The Nintendo Switch is slated for a release sometime in March 2017. More details about the consoleā€™s exact release date are expected to be revealed during a special event in January 2017.
