Shigeru Miyamoto Recalls Satoru Iwata’s Positivity And What Made Him Unique

Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto spoke to The New Yorker during a recent interview in which the magazine asked him about the late Satoru Iwata and what advice he cherished most from his former colleague. [Thanks, NintendoEverything.]

“I always remember his ability to take something, give it shape and then to motivate people,” Miyamoto said. “That always impressed me about him.” Miyamoto then spoke to the uniqueness of Iwata as a programmer and how, instead of showing how something could not be done, Iwata would “say he was going to figure out how to make it work.”

“He’d always be positive, always try to make the impossible happen,” Miyamoto said in closing. “I still remember that to this day.”
