Mythological monsters roam the land, and it will be up to the player to find out what they are, study their weaknesses, gather the necessary tools, and then defeat them in combat in visual novel Walkerman.
Walkerman draw from monsters like vampires and werewolves, getting players to research their weaknesses by searching through the game’s world and talking to its inhabitants. Over the course of their conversations and decisions, they’ll gain the tools they need to beat the monster of each episode.
Players will have to engage the monster in combat on an isometric grid once they encounter it, selecting from several available options in order to defeat it. These sequences will offer many different means of positioning the player to stay safe, as well as multiple solutions on how to finally kill each beast. These will entirely depend on the player’s research and gatherings, so hard work will pay off.
When not hunting monsters, the player can make decisions in the hero’s social life, deciding who to speak with and trust. These decisions will also affect the overall arc of the story.
Walkerman is set to release in five episodes, and a prologue is currently available for free on Itch.io. The first full episode is due to release in May of this year.
