Following a brief teaser earlier this month, Compile Heart has updated their official website with battle system details on their upcoming PS Vita RPG, Nep-Nep Connect: Chaos Chanpuru.
The battles in Nep-Nep Connect are done through an “Attack Card Battle” system, where you’ll get a hand of cards to play on the field and take out the cards placed by the opponent.
The battlefield is split in two sides for allies and enemies with a 21-grid field for the battles. The battlefield shows the allied part of the map in blue and the enemy part in red. You’ll get to place cards from your hands into the allied part of the field to increase friendly units.
The player’s hand can hold up to five cards and you’ll draw one card per turn. Running out of cards in your deck means having to use up HP in order to reload the deck.
The “Lifeline” are the parts shown in the orange bits indicating the back row units shown in the above screenshot. Think of these as the player’s HJP, and when it goes to 0 the player loses. By taking out the enemy Lifeline first, you’ll be victorious.
When a unit is placed on the field, they’ll automatically move one space forward at the end of the turn. Should the unit land next to an enemy unit, they will attack.
You’ll get to damage the enemy’s HP by having a unit reach their Lifeline.
Nep-Nep Connect: Chaos Chanpuru releases in Japan in 2017 for PlayStation Vita. The game is free-to-play with micro-transactions.
