Yo-Kai Watch, the popular videogame series by Level-5, will soon be getting its own comic book series published by IDW Publishing. [Thanks, Mt. Wildwood.]

The first full-color 32-page issue will release in April for $3.99 and will be written by Eric M. Esquivel (Bravest Warriors), illustrated by Tina Francisco (Strawberry Shortcake), and colored by Dono Sanchez Almara (Turbo Defiant, colorist for Marvel).

Here’s an official description of the comic by IDW Publishing:

“The hit anime, manga and toy sensation from Japan comes to North American comics! Join Nate and his Yo-Kai, Whisper, as they battle against ill-intentioned Yo-Kai causing terrible trouble in their hometown!”
