Sony Interactive Entertainment revealed on their official Japanese PlayStation website that production of the PlayStation 3 console is expected to end in Japan sometime in the near future. [Thanks, Game Jouhou.] According to a game shop owner in Fukuoka, we can expect to see the production of Sony’s last-gen console within the month. The PlayStation 3 first released in Japan on November 11 and North America on November 17, 2006, followed by a European launch on March 23, 2007.
