Faulty Apprentice is a visual novel about training to become a hero, but depending on the player’s actions, the hero might not exactly save the day at the end.
Players are able to make decisions and interact with over thirty characters around Star Castle, but not all of those characters mean well. There are forces looking to destroy the castle and the people within it, and it is up to the player whether they wish to ally themselves with them instead. They can do so through the decisions they make involving these characters, dooming or saving people based on what they decide.
Players will still want to throw themselves into their lessons even if they’re out for destruction, growing various attributes as they learn swordplay, archery, magic, alchemy, and other skills from various instructors. Not only will their stats grow, but their relationships with their instructors will as well, growing closer to four different powerful women over minigames and conversation.
Faulty Apprentice is currently raising Kickstarter funds, and is projected to release in April of 2018.
