Anamorphine will have players exploring surreal manifestations of memories, given colorful form in unique ways that will tell a sad story without saying a word.
Tyler is trying to repress some sad memories, but just like anyone else trying to forget something depressing, finds reminders about them all around his life. As players explore Tyler’s apartment, they’ll find memories within objects and places there, seeing them unfold and change the shape of the world around them.
Players will find themselves entering a bedroom that opens up into a concert hall, taking a step out into a field of luminescent flowers when they mean to just wander their apartment, or see a pile of beer bottles reshape in a corner of a room, forming a portal to a vast desert. Items and locations shift and change as players play Anamorphine, each hinting at the sad events that Tyler is trying to forget.
Anamorphine uses this imagery to hint to players about its story, letting them piece together the events and visions, from snowing sideways in their house to a sea of furniture rising far above them and out of sight, to find their own meaning within it.
Anamorphine will be out this year, and can currently be wishlisted on Steam.
