Square Enix Begins “Next Generation Game Engine” Project

Recommended Videos

With the advent of the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, presentation of graphics and sound is rapidly increasing. Square Enix wants to keep up with the joneses and reduce costs by creating a more advanced video game engine.

Square Enix is hiring a small army ranging from rendering programmers to technical artists and Windows app programmers for their next generation game engine project. One position that’s particularly interesting, is the online system programmer job which recommends PS3/Xbox 360 and MMO level network experience. While Square Enix has Final Fantasy XI, Final Fantasy XIV, and a other few MMOs, their key business isn’t the MMO market. Perhaps, Square Enix is laying tracks for future games with more online elements.
