Pokkén Tournament DX’s Early Build Runs At 1280×720 Resolution Docked

During this year’s E3, the Switch port of Pokkén Tournament, titled Pokkén Tournament DX, was one of many games showcased by Nintendo. Now, DigitalFoundry has used some of that footage of the game from the event to compare it to the original Wii U version’s gameplay to see what was improved with the port.

First off, Pokkén Tournament DX runs at a higher resolution of 1280×720 compared to its predecessor’s 960×720. However, while the Switch version still lacks anti-aliasing, it has improved its texture filtering and seems to run at a more consistent 60 frames per second, at least what we’ve seen in the E3 demo build so keep in mind that the specs are subject to change when the full version releases, similar to what we’ve seen in Splatoon 2 as some of you pointed out.

To see all of DigitalFoundry’s findings, you can check out the video below.

Pokkén Tournament DX is set to release for the Nintendo Switch on September 22nd, 2017.
