In Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, players are following Senua, a Celtic Warrior who is on a vision quest to fight for the soul of Dillion, her deceased lover. She is also a woman dealing with various mental health issues, like post traumatic stress disorder, depression, and psychosis. In an effort to correctly capture what it would be may like for someone dealing with these kinds of problems, Ninja Theory talked with neuroscientists and people who actually suffer from psychosis. To help people understand how that input impacted the game, it will come with a 25-minute feature called Hellblade: Senua’s Psychosis.

An almost three minute teaser for Hellblade: Senua’s Psychosis has been released online. It contains clips taken from the feature. Professor Paul Fletcher, a psychiatrist and professor of Health Neuroscience at the University of Cambridge, is one of the first people in the video to talk about his experience consulting on the game. Additional professors and people involved with recovery programs briefly speak about the insight they brought to the game and their thoughts on it.

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice will come to the PlayStation 4 and PC on August 8, 2017.
