BackSlash is a one-on-one dueling game where players will fight it out with martial arts abilities, ancient weaponry, and magical attacks. Players won’t know what to expect from their opponent when the match begins, though, as players can customize their fighter with any abilities they choose.
BackSlash features ten different warring clans to choose fighting styles from, adding any of them onto their custom fighter along with thirty-three different magical attacks, buffeting opponents with rains of kunai, flurries of punches, and salvos of high explosives. Any of these powers can be equipped to any fighter as well, keeping players guessing at the beginning of a match. These moves are all mapped to simple button presses as well, eliminating the challenge that comes with special inputs.
Players will be able to fight against one another, against the AI through a series of quests, or survival mode where they will see how many fights in a row they can win with their custom fighter. During each match, players will have to factor in the environments as well, as they can all be destroyed by player attacks, leaving terrain in constant flux. Matches will also speed up as time goes on, turning each battle into a frantic race to see who can down the other player faster.
